Chris Gately is the Director of Human Resources at M Group and also provides expertise in the area of Human Resource management to many of the firm’s clients, serving as an outsourced HR Manager for organizations in a wide range of industries. His focus includes guidance in employee relations, employee benefits, drafting of customized personnel policies, designing recruiting strategies and streamlining payroll structure and processes.

When Chris joined M Group in 1999, his initial focus was on formalizing the firm’s internal HR policies and practices. Then, as many of the firm’s clients continued to grow, they turned to Chris as a critical advisor for their human capital management needs. Chris has specialized in helping his clients adopt innovative solutions, by bringing large company thinking to their small and mid-sized companies. He brings experience in managing HR issues, ranging from developing critical personnel policies and structuring payroll processes to handling employee leaves and designing effective and competitive compensation plans. Chris works closely with his clients to understand their business, in order to anticipate their HR needs before they become issues. His goal is to help clients understand the exposure and impact that ineffective or nonexistent HR practices can have on their business…more importantly, how effective HR practices can lead to enhanced employee morale, better allocation of management time and resources, greater productivity and often increased profit.

Chris, a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR), brings more than 20 years of experience to M Group. Prior to joining M Group Chris served as Training & Development Manager in the banking industry, where he developed training programs for thousands of employees nation-wide.

Chris is a graduate of Brooklyn College, and received a Masters of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from New York Institute of Technology. Chris is a National Member of the Society for Human Resource Management and World at Work (a national society for compensation professionals).
